The main mission of the SmartOpenData project is creation of infrastructure Linked Open Data Infrastructure (including software tools and data), which provides a freely available public data sources from the domains of biodiversity, environmental protection and related research in rural and protected areas of European and national parks.
The fulfillment of this mission will provide opportunities for public sector bodies to improve the services provided and small businesses to create new innovative products and services that can lead to new business opportunities in the environmental field, regional decision-making processes in the area of implementation of legislation.
The value of data will be significantly strengthened its disclosure through a common queryable interface, which allows access to a set of related data in the cloud of linked open data. Conformity of data structures and query language helps to eliminate language problems typical of the data files to its disclosure with multilingual support
